Thinking outside the box......

When I get a chance, and I wake up naturally around 6am or so on a Saturday morning, I do enjoy jumping in the car to scout out a nearby Yard Sale.

But, I usually look for very specific things. It's either a lamp that needs a new shade or a chandelier that needs a coat of paint.

I don't own a pair of shorts. Well, not really. I own some athletic shorts, but I'm talking about the dress up cute, go out in public kind. It's most likely because of my recent employment as shop owner, but I will say, that a  petite frame with a little.....shall we say....junk in the trunk.....is hard to fit sometimes. Unless I don't mind the shorts past my knees or the gaping waistband when I bend over.

When I headed to a Yard Sale a few weeks ago, I spotted these.....

The tag said "perfect fit" so, I figured I couldn't go wrong ;)

Besides, the person selling them had my shape so I figured I would risk the $1.00 I spent on them and give them a try....

The tag was correct. It was a perfect fit, but missing a little...... happy.

So for 40 cents I purchased these wooden buttons and gave it a face lift.....

And now they smile in their new home :)

This Saturday the hubs and I scored a pair of these concrete planters for $5.00 each.....

We both agreed that our herbs do much better in planters then our soil. Let's hope so, our summers are hot, hot, hot! Later this week, I will show you how to make these....

These dresses are SUPER simple and only take about a half an hour or less to make.

And with all of this..... Life has been full, very full. The girls consume my time, a lot of it, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And because of this, we are downsizing our booth are the Highland's Antique' Mall.

I absolutely adore our booth, but simply don't have the time to maintain it's size. It will no longer be exclusive to Childen's merchandise, but will be filled with all things cute, inspiring, creative and fun for you to enjoy.

So much more detail on this later, but for now, head on over there for a Downsizing Sale of 50% OFF or Lower (excludes FIRMS). These little Kissy Kissy long sleeve onesies are only $5.00 and in perfect condition!

Hope this adds a little inspiration to your day! Get creative and think outside the box!

Shall I.....

 give you an update??

Over all, life has been busy. VERY busy! And I realize, this blog post might be all over the place, as I jump back into the swing of things and try to get my groove on :)

This month was full of sorrow, joy, excitement, planning,  overwhelmness, praise, thanksgiving, a birthday and lack of sleep, just to name a few! I don't have too long to blog, so I will leave you with a ton few pics over October! Below will be outings we took to see the Scarecrows at the Botanical Gardens, a trip to Landmark Park, a stroll to the local Friday Farmer's Market at Dothan Nurseries (where I got the eggplant for our little grub below!), several pumpkin patches including this one, and additions to our Booth at Highland's Antique' Mall (continue to shop with us out there!).

We are tying up all ends with the close, including cancelling phone service, which will then cancel my Centurytel email account, which this blog and my facebook is registered under. If you subscribe to this blog and after this post no longer receive any posts via email, then you will most likely have to come back and re-subscribe :/ sorry! I hope it will be an easy transition and it will not have to go that far, but sometimes these little problems can turn into big ones. But for now, enjoy the outings below.........

This is my favorite time of year, and I truly LOVE the fact that we have a local Farmer's market going on through the third week in November at Dothan Nurseries.....

Sometimes, we just love to eat fresh simple things, locally grown, for an easy, yet beautiful lunch......

And don't forget while you're at the Nurseries to pick up some beauties.....

And for some odd reason, I feel as though I must put a sentence here to divide up these pics and explain the ones below. So for the ones that haven't seen or visited our booth at the Highland's, then here's a sneak peek.... (two sentences.... I feel better...)

We officially closed our shop the day before my birthday....

Little did a friend know that when she dropped off a little something for me on my last day.....

Truly, one of the most special and cherished gifts I have received........

Lil Light O Mine created these precious, beautiful scripture cards with children in mind. But I assure you, they will bless and encourage any age......

I hope you will visit their website. These would make an awesome gift!

I also hope you enjoyed the pics and they give you a little inspiration to get out, visit and enjoy these local places! Be back soon with more recipes and ideas including this one.......

  Good night y'all!
