Though I can honestly say, that I am ready to stop hearing ornaments randomly trickling down the tree limbs and hitting the floor several times a day as my dying Christmas tree's limbs start to head in the vertical direction and shed it's needles!

Something else shed a little today..... this morning I took a little time to give the girls an early spring trim......

Hitting the 2 year mark on growing my snail speed hair out......sigh....these cuts make me want to chop chop chop! What to do, what to do??

We will be closing at 2pm tomorrow, New Year's Eve so I can celebrate with my family and have a send off party for my oldest brother and his family of 10 as they head off to Kenya for 2 years!

Happy New Years Everyone! As you are blessed beyond measure, tested and tried beyond belief and loved more than life in the upcoming year, may we not forget that His Mercies are new every morning, and that we have much to be thankful for as we praise the God who saves, provides our every need and holds us in the palm of His hands. Thanks be to God!

Thank you for a beautiful 2010! Look forward to many years with you all!

We will re-open Monday, January 3rd at 9am. See you soon!

Traditions........

It all starts the Week of Christmas with Piling in the car with hot chocolate and drive to see Christmas lights, not just any Christmas lights, but the tackiest ones we can find because honestly they are the most fun to look at.

Then Christmas Eve we start with fixing a dish called Créme Brulée French toast for Christmas morning and make an extra to take to friends (we have been doing this for years) which in return they give us a fabulous Lemon Meringue Pie which we devour after our Chinese food that evening. The Chinese food is a result of what happened 7 years ago on Christmas Eve when my grandmother passed away. We had been at the hospital after she went in from fainting the day before. After exploratory surgery one day later, she never came out. We were so exhausted and hungry around 9pm at night with nothing else opened, Tim ran up to a local Chinese joint and picked us up some dinner and we ate it in bed and made it a tradition ever since. It sounds sad, but it actually is a very comforting feeling to me and brings sweet memories of my grandmother on Christmas Eve.

Then the girls are allowed to open one individual present, which is always new pajamas (this year from Ireland, not the traditional Christmas P.j's) and one shared gift (always a movie) and we gather around in new pj's and watch the movie to help us stay awake so we can head off to the 11pm Christmas Eve service at our church and enjoy the celebration of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by candlelight with our church family.

Bring the kiddos home (one normally still asleep from the first verse of the first Christmas carol sung, usually Silent night) and tuck them in bed. Then Tim heads of to the shop and his office to pick up hidden gifts that are too large to hide at home, which this year was a new bike for Elizabeth.

We head to bed usually by 2:00a.m. and this year was no different. Wake up around 6am and get the party started! Thanks for letting me share some of our tradition, enjoy the pictures of our wonderful weekend!

What have we been doing?

What haven't we been doing?!?!? Is the better question!

We have been super busy all around and so haven't had much time to collect thoughts and put together a fun, creative, inspiring post so once again I will let the pictures do the talking! This past weekend was filled with lots of laughter, cooking, craft making, fire blazing, coffee drinking, baby smooching, gift wrapping, picture taking and a few melt downs due to the fact of sleepy children from all the late nights! I would love to be able to get together my Christmas wish list, but since my husband has already been shopping the last two days with the girls I better not throw a kink in their plans and let you just see the results after the new year! Enjoy!
