smile....

I sat down long enough to upload some pics from Saturday. We traveled to one of my brother's home up north for some pool and cousin play. Our littlest nieces that live in the States, (because I do have some cuties in Africa) came up as well; and so of course, smaller peeps are more fun to photograph, so it is what it is folks :)  These were just too cute not to post. To recap, there was dress up, swimming, and a big time dance off, just to set the scene; since my niece that is in most of the pics is wearing a dress from her big cousin's closet ;)  and just to warn you....if you are drinking a beverage when you get down to the "goggle" pic, you might just spew it, or if you are over the age of 40 (or given birth to a child) you might wet your pants...yes, that funny.

It was good to be with all of them.

Happy Thursday, y'all!

good morning!

We treated ourselves to sleeping in this morning. We are not finished with school yet, but very close. Our home currently is a construction site, and you literally can't walk by a piece of furniture without being tempted to run your finger down it or draw something on the thick dust that has accumulated from the demo. Partial demo that is. Did I tell you it took a week to get the Insurance adjuster out here? No biggie. They have been really kind, but demo two will start taking place today. We started cleaning pulling junk things out of this non functioning pantry.....

seriously, behind this door is a very long and narrow closet/pantry. It has always been just a "throw it in there" closet. It's about 23" wide after you make it in through the 16" door. Turning sideways to get a can of chicken broth for the last 10 years is about to be over....

spending extra $$ on something while trying to save for a child can be a little frustrating, especially when I have FORCED and I mean FORCED myself, to walk into a store, and ONLY buy what's on the list for the last 6 mos. If I see a cute shirt and it's only $15, I tell myself to walk away and head straight to the bank to put that $15 in our adoption fund, because if I was considering it, then I can put that much away. It's been a blessing and a challenge, for us all. Our girlies, have saved and sacrificed as well for their new brother or sister. But, I have decided to rejoice in the leak and remodel, and continue to trust that God will provide, as He always has.

Last night I was so tired, that we left our kitchen like this......

and I really don't care. I decided I needed the sleep and this blogging time this morning for my sanity!

I would show you what's behind door number two, but when I started to move the plastic out of the way, I heard something, that could've been my mind playing tricks on me, but since there is a chunk of flooring gone and hole to underneath the house in that room, I decided I wasn't as brave as I thought I was; and that you can see it when I have some one else here beside me with a baseball bat to swat at whatever might come after me when opening this door ;).......

to answer the question that most of you have asked. No, this is not our master bath...... It actually was the only "decent" looking one in the house(with yellow tile) and sits in our hallway for guests and is across from Emily's room; so I would say it's "hers". Tim and I still continue to get ready for the day in our turquoise and pepto bismol pink bathroom with half pulled down flower power wall paper. But Elizabeth has asked us, why we won't just continue on with gutting that bathroom as well......a kid's pocket is deep, deep I tell ya! A bathroom's, a bathroom right!?!?!?!

This is a tiny tiny space, but we are going to make the most of it with functionality, and I'm pretty excited about it. my head has been spinning...with three daughter's in the home and a possible 4th, this room will get LOTS of use. I'm pretty excited about giving them a few important things, like more then one outlet ;)

Back to the pantry... it shares the same wall as this bathroom, so we will create me about a 20in deep pantry and give the rest to part of our new shower ;)

I have a few more fun designs like a full length mirror hidden storage.

 Tongue and grove ceiling...

 And this fabulous tile....

Since we have two other tubs in the house, for space purposes, we will nix the tub and add a smaller version of a glass and subway tile shower like this.....

Hoping you all have a fabulous weekend! I'm going to sip my last bit of coffee and head for clean up in the kitchen!

Be back soon!
