Clinging to the Hope.....

There has been few times in my history of owning Bellamia where I have experienced seeing tragedy in the lives of my customers. Each time, pierces my heart and aches and yearns for peace and mercy.

I lay in bed last night, tossing and turning. Tears streaming down my face, picturing this face that was sent to me during my Cutest Kid Contest in May of last year.....

This is Shep Pugh(this month, 15mos old). He and his mother Brittany (24yrs) died in a automobile accident Monday evening. Brittany is from my home town, Ozark. Although she is my younger brother's age, her sister Brooke and I played as children together. I used to think (and still do!) that Brooke, her mom Kim and sister Brittany were the most beautiful people.....

Tim was away on business when I heard the news Monday night. As I lay in bed alone that evening I ached for this family. I lay solo in my bed with my husband away on business. Clint lays in his bed solo with his wife away eternally. I can't imagine the grief. The pain he must feel.

I told my children the news the next morning. After some sadness and then finishing our regular morning activities, headed for school. When pulling into the school drive, Emily asked. "Mom, was she a Christian?" I told Emily, "I think she was, baby" . Emily's response was what I encourage this family to cling too. With excitement she said "Well, then, She will be with him (Shep) again."

With just that small piece of  information that my children knew about Brittany and Shep, she knew they lived with THE peace and hope and believe that God's promises are true.

With a heavy heart I grieve for the two blessings these families lost on this earth, but with a filled heart I rejoice that these families will be blessed with the promise of spending eternity with them in Heaven.

Do you cling to that same hope?

Acts 2:20-28

20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' 22 "Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him,as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25 David said about him: " 'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope, 27 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'

To God be the Glory!

This was my amazing sister-in-law. Tell your sweet Emily that we are trusting in the fact that she is with Shep and our heavenly Father. Thank you for this post.

Katie, Tears are running down my cheeks. I just starred at their family picture and I don't even know them. What a wonderful post! I am so clinging to the same hope. Love, Kristee

Well written Katie! I did not know her but her story of who she was has touched my life. I now hold my husband and sweet 18 month old Carter alittle tighter. I also have re-evaluated priorities in my life! God be with these families! !

Thanks for sharing this with us Katie. Our love to everyone that loved them both. Our love to the other woman's family too. So many hurting today. Praise the Lord that he destined them to be in paradise forever.
